The initial response to the Reunion's Golf Icebreaker has been great. So far, the following hackers (er, I mean golfers) have responded: Mike Powell, Jerry Smith, John and Karrie Klement, Mark McLaurin, Bill Chesnut, and Steve Smith.
We have tee times reserved for Friday afternoon and Saturday morning at the University of Florida Golf Course and we'll either play on one day or the other (or both) depending on everyone's preference.
We've got plenty of slots available for you and your spouse so let Ken Nibling (knibling@completeproduction.com) know if you are interested. Ken is also doing some personal recruiting so if you know anyone that loves to play, let him know and he'll be glad to contact them. Right now, he is working on Coleman Stipanovich and Buddy Carrell to show up as the celebrity football golfers (John Elway and Dan Marino had previous commitments!).
Respectfully yours,
Ken Nibling, Czar of Golf Operations, GHS 68 Reunion

Class! Class! It's time to tithe and send in your forms!
The Committee is working hard to put on a fine Reunion. We need more of you to go ahead and send in your forms and checks so that we can get everything ready on schedule.
Having put on a number of events like this, I know that we all put off sending in the required stuff and wait until the last minute, the witching hour. From the point of view of the committee though, we need you to send it in to make our jobs easier as we put the events together.
Let virtue strike sooner rather than later!
We know that you are all enthused about the Reunion and appreciate your kind e-mails and the 2500 hits you have made on the site. Plus, those of you who have been sending in photos are fleshing out the slide show that gets daily compliments. Now we want you to sign up and send in some "green."
Your homework assignment is to make our Treasurer smile from ear to ear when her mail box is overflowing with your commitments to join us.
Come on down, ya'll.

GOLF "ICEBREAKER" SET
As a kick-off to the Reunion's weekend of activities, we are going to have a fun golf "icebreaker" where golfers of all levels can get together and renew acquaintances with folks they may not have seen in years. What better way of getting into the "swing" of the Reunion than to tee it up with old friends!
At this writing, we are looking at having golf outings on either the afternoon of Friday, June 20th or Saturday, June 21st (or on both dates depending on the level of interest).
Classmates and their spouses are welcome to join us. If you and/or your spouse are interested, please contact Ken Nibling at knibling@completeproduction.com or 281-372-2318.
Come on out and play! That way when you show up at the other Reunion events you'll already have a few faces that you recognize!

It's Time! Send in your registration form and check
Preparations for the Reunion are proceeding feverishly. Print out the registration form that has been sent out to you via e-mail and send it to Jackie Cooter Hoover with your check. The grand return of the GHS Class of 1968 to Hogtown will go down in history. Don't miss it.
If you need another registration form sent to you by e-mail or a hard copy sent by "snail mail", you may send a request to ghs68reunion@aol.com. We will send it out to you ASAP.
Remember that the deadline for sending in your form with a check is May 15th. Why wait, send it now!
Also, if you have pictures, scan them and send them along as well. The more the merrier.
We hope to see you in June.
Go 'Canes!

ALTERNATE WAYS TO VIEW SLIDE SHOW
There are several ways to view the slide show:
1) When you open the blog site, you will see the Picasa web album at the top of the page showing photos every 4 seconds. Grab a cup of coffee and have fun watching.
2) You may also use this URL: www.picasa.com/JCGATOR2

OK, Gator-oos......Listen Up!
Each posting has a comments button where you may add comments to that particular post. I have a question to pose and I solicit your comments.
What are the top five dance songs that stay in your memory from your high school days? If there are other songs that do not fit in the dance category send those along too. At our meeting last evening, Bill Harlan spontaneously mentioned "Soldier Boy." I should not be surprised coming from a West Point graduate.
You are allowed to take the Fifth Amendment about why you recall those songs, but gory details will not be turned away.
Go to it.

General Information and Schedule of Events
40th CLASS REUNION: June 20-22, 2008
The schedule for this past reunion has been posted on the Yahoo group/forum (see link with other links) for safe keeping.
We are discussing how long to maintain the blog and we are leaning towards doing so ad infinitum. The Yahoo group/forum will keep on keeping on so sign up and send in your thoughts, etc.
Also note that our reunion e-mail address is and will remain ghs68reunion@aol.com.
HOW TO ENJOY PRE-REUNION PHOTOS OF YOUR CLASSMATES (HELP FOR THE COMPUTER-CHALLENGED)! Go to the SLIDE SHOW at the top of the blog page to watch the photos. To control the slide show, place your cursor over the slide and use the pause, forward, and backward arrows that will appear. Double click the slide and you will be directed to the Picasa photo site. There you can see a larger version of the photo you clicked. Click VIEW ALBUM to enter the web album of all the pre-reunion photos we have placed in the blog. At that point, you may order any copies of the photos you would like to or watch, send photos to friends, or watch a full screen version of the slide show. Have fun.
When sending in electronic images, please identify who is in the picture and who is sending it. Many of us look exactly like we did in our youth, some of us do not so identification helps the blog maester. Some photo programs allow you to label or caption each shot to identify the people pictured. If you can do this before sending it in, it will save us time at this end.
