I want to thank all my class mates for their kindnesses after I became ill and was unable to attend the Saturday evening festivities. Am feeling fine now and all is well.
Thanks to all,
JC

Photos have arrived. Uploading has begun
I am beginning the upload of all of the 600 plus photos of the Reunion. Be patient, I may not finish them all until this evening as I am off to a barbecue shortly.
Big batch of photos to be uploaded this afternoon
Keep your eyes open for new photos that will be added to two Reunion week slide shows. We hope to have them up and running this afternoon. Jackie Hoover was very kind to pick them up on a holiday so we can upload ASAP for your viewing pleasure.

The Committee Meets...........News!
We had another one of our uproariously fun meetings last night. Besides laughing, carrying on, and eating some delicious food (with wine) that Susan prepared, we did accomplish a few things.
We conducted a post-reunion assessment and began coalescing our data/notes so as much of those materials will be ready and available when planning the next Reunion.
Some of those data included: up-to-date list of deceased class mates; sign-in sheets for Friday night, merging of new information to the database, and financial reports by Jackie Hoover. We will be continally fine-tuning and updating our database of class members.
The photos that our photographer took are said to number somewhere between 500 and 1,000. They are being fine-tuned at this moment and are to be delivered to us shortly. As soon as we receive the new photos, they will be posted on the blog. The captioning of "who is who" will come later, probably next week. That part is more time consuming and we will need to meet to accomplish that task (hopefully) in one sitting.
On future events, we all agreed that the momentum of the Reunion was something that should be nurtured and maintained. We decided to try some quarterly happy hours at Gator's Dockside to give local classmates a chance to mingle. The first one is scheduled for July 25 at 5:30 pm, at Gator's. Also, if any of you in other parts of the state/country want to do something closer to your homes, we would be willing to assist you as we are able.
We concluded unanimously that another Reunion five years hence is something we think should be done rather than waiting ten more years. Stay tuned.
If any of you want an extra copy of the Reunion official booklet, let us know. We have some remaining for sale for $12. We would give them to you, but we want to make sure that we do not go in the hole, but, so far, our finances look very good. If you want to buy one, send an e-mail to ghs68reunion@aol.com.
We made an evaluation of the event and, frankly, graded it out with an A+. If you have any comments or suggestions, we will collate them and put them in the file for next time.
So that is it for now. See you July 25.

BLOG PASSES THE 10,000 MARK. Ward Scott/Class of '68 Writing Prize fund information
Just because Reunion '08 has come and gone does not mean that the fun is over. We are just getting started.
Keep an eye on the blog because our photographer should be sending us all or a portion of the 500 shots he has in the can. They will be posted post haste.
We have received donations to the Ward Scott/Class of '68 writing prize given each year to a deserving GHS senior. Keep 'em coming. We want to endow that fund and believe that about $6 grand will do it.
If you would like to contribute send your check to Gainesville High School, ATTN: Jeannie Fiedler - Bookkeeper, 1900 NW 13th Street, Gainesville 32605. Make sure the check has the notation: "Class of 1968 Gift Fund."

General Information and Schedule of Events
40th CLASS REUNION: June 20-22, 2008
The schedule for this past reunion has been posted on the Yahoo group/forum (see link with other links) for safe keeping.
We are discussing how long to maintain the blog and we are leaning towards doing so ad infinitum. The Yahoo group/forum will keep on keeping on so sign up and send in your thoughts, etc.
Also note that our reunion e-mail address is and will remain ghs68reunion@aol.com.
HOW TO ENJOY PRE-REUNION PHOTOS OF YOUR CLASSMATES (HELP FOR THE COMPUTER-CHALLENGED)! Go to the SLIDE SHOW at the top of the blog page to watch the photos. To control the slide show, place your cursor over the slide and use the pause, forward, and backward arrows that will appear. Double click the slide and you will be directed to the Picasa photo site. There you can see a larger version of the photo you clicked. Click VIEW ALBUM to enter the web album of all the pre-reunion photos we have placed in the blog. At that point, you may order any copies of the photos you would like to or watch, send photos to friends, or watch a full screen version of the slide show. Have fun.
When sending in electronic images, please identify who is in the picture and who is sending it. Many of us look exactly like we did in our youth, some of us do not so identification helps the blog maester. Some photo programs allow you to label or caption each shot to identify the people pictured. If you can do this before sending it in, it will save us time at this end.
